I acquired this with no information. I have been told it is most likely Chalcedony. Fairly light weight and has a bit of a waxy feel. I would like to know where it may have come from, and what has caused to shape or formation of it.

Chalcedony is a form of microcrystalline quartz and this looks like quartz, so it might contain chalcedony. I have no idea where it is from as it could be from millions of different places

Thanks, it is the irregular surface that is interesting. Nothing to indicate petrified wood, or tree rings etc.
