Specific gravity 3.39 to 3.50 hardness above 8
The black lines I believe come from separation of pieces.

May I ask how you measured SG and hardness? It looks to me like quartz.

Conchoidal fracture, vitreous luster on fracture planes...it's a chert/flint nodule. You have over-estimated the hardness.

I agree with Bob and Kevin. The density and hardness seem to be wrong. Looks like quartz.
