It is true that I am not a friend of agates, but I must admit that both are really beautiful and, if you like them, you have done very well. Enjoy!

After measuring the specimen I found out that the size provided by the previous owner was not correct, the specimen is larger and measures 25 x 22 cm. I can't edit my post anymore, could an Admin please change the size information both in the text and in the description?

Thanks!

Fixed,
Michael

Again an agate, couldn't resist ;-) But that's it now, I will return to macrocrystalline quartz, fluorite, tourmaline etc, I promise ;-)

The next addition will be a spectacular stalactitic fluorite from China - thanks to Master Jordi from whom I got this. Botryoidal fluorites are rare and I always liked these ones from Minggang/Henan since they came out, but I never found one I really fell in love with - until I saw this at Fabre Minerals :-)

Besides the very aesthetic form of the specimen, it has the special feature that some of the stalactites were somehow interrupted during growth. I've never seen something like that before, this is Jordi's description: "Some of the growths were interrupted, probably due to contact with the rock walls of the vein, as evidenced by the relicts of Quartz that emerge from the Fluorite, which they most likely served as guides during their growth."

A very special and unique addition to my collection!

Hi Silvia, I was sure this is a specimen you like, a showy display specimen with an educational factor :-)

PostPosted: Jun 03, 2022 17:06    Post subject: Re: Collection of Tobi

Today I could add something to my collection that I was dreaming of for very long: I visited a friend who is a fellow collector but also part-time mineral dealer. I always find something for my collection when I visit him but this time one of my collector's dreams came true - a really nice and large classic Wölsendorf "honey-spar" fluorite! This new addition is a true highlight for my collection and a wonderful large sample of one of Germany's most famous mineral classics. A dream come true for me as a fluorite fan and collector of German minerals :-)
