I had a surprising and wonderful moment yesterday:
In April 2021 I posted a fluorite/calcite specimen from Xianghualing/Xianghuapu that I added to my collection: https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?p=75085#75085
Until now, I never had a specimen in my collection that was published in a book or magazine ... a few days ago I purchased the quite new book China 2 by Berthold Ottens, a major reference book about Chinese minerals ... and while I was browsing the book with its many wonderful photos of localities and minerals, I discovered that MY fluorite specimen is pictured there as one of the pieces of the Xianghualing/Xianghuapu area!
Just wanted to share this because it was a wonderful surprise, really proud and happy to discover that one of my collection specimens is published in such a prominent book :-)
(Btw, I can highly recommend both of Berthold's China books!)
Regards
Tobi

Congratulations, Tobi.
I bought that book three months ago but couldn't identify the specimen as yours. Actually a piece of museum size and quality.
And yes, it's an excellent book.

Thank you guys. The specimen was published before it was in my collection and so my name is not mentioned, nonetheless I'm happy and proud to have a specimen that is part of such a great book by Berthold Ottens!

A nice and large specimen from this prolific deposit. It must weigh a lot, doesn't it?
