An "Azurite flower" (very rare !) from Chessy-les-Mines, Beaujolais wineyard, Rhône, FRANCE. The crystals are flat, with an intense midnight blue and very shiny, because preserved in Halloysite (white), and coming from the period of exploitation of the "Blue Mine" (19th century). This specimen comes from the collection of Émile-Auguste Doumet (1796–1869), from the same family as the botanist Adanson, himself a mineral collector. From the collection of Dr. E. Asselborn. Now in my collection. My favorite specimen of SMAM 2022

Malachite psm after Cuprite, on Azurite "Chessylite" (2,5 cm). A lovely piece found by Jean Béhier (a great mineralogist engineer for the French atomic Commission after WWII) in 1937 or 1938 (see the label), in Chessy mine (Rhône Department, FRANCE). Ex. coll. Alain Martaud, now in my collection.
