PostPosted: Feb 13, 2025 11:16    Post subject: Re: Collection of Michael Shaw - Tucson 2025

Another Tucson is in the books. The weather during our visit was wonderful and it was a shock to return home to snow, sleet, ice, and freezing temperatures. There were a few new mineral discoveries (see Bob Kerr's Tucson report for details), but by and large nothing notable creating a big buzz. I continue to focus on old collections that become available, and in one such collection I was able to find a nice Bleiberg wulfenite that didn't break the bank. I have wanted to add one of these to the collection for many years, so that piece made my day. I have been busy photographing our new acquisitions and will post a photo later.

Below are a few thumbnails that we took home.

PostPosted: Feb 25, 2025 07:36    Post subject: Re: Collection of Michael Shaw

That malachite is a great specimen, Michael!
Malachite from Grube Friedrich is an absolute classic from Siegerland, and many collectors consider them the best malachites from Germany.
And though I don't collect malachite, I think you are lucky that you have found such a good specimen of this classic material.

Congratulations :-)

Best regards
Tobi
