In Spanish we say: "la primera idea es la buena". It means something like "the first idea is the best idea" and in this case it demonstrate to be totally true.
I received very different opinions about the new dates proposed (Monday and Wednesday) and for one reason or the other each day create troubles, so I checked with John Cesar and for what he said, I'm convinced that on Tuesday 9th February at 6:00 PM probably not too much people will be still working with the show cases, so finally I will recuperate what I proposed first: the Tuesday 9 between 6-7 PM in Casa Vicente.
Sorry if someone can't attend, but it seems that it don't exist a perfect date, without troubles for no one.
FMF fans, please join us and come to Casa Vicente to share mineralogy and friendship!
Jordi

Jordi, It is always such a challenge trying to schedule ANY new event for people during the Tucson show week! The meeting at Casa Vicente sounds great, and I will look forward to it--I should be able to make it on Tuesday, and it will be pleasant to meet you there and any of the others who can. I imagine it will be a problem for Peter Megaw especially to get free during that exhibit setup time. Tuesday still does sound like your best compromise though.
I'll expect to see you at Vicente's along with my friend from Denver, Jane Dianich, as well as Renate Shumacher from the Bonn Museum (who will hopefully be done setting up her own display at the show by then). I'll look forward to seeing all of you who will be there, and too bad, about those who won't be in Tucson (one can't always manage to go everywhere). And thanks again to you, Jordi, for running this internet Forum discussion exchange in addition to your mineral business.
Take care, and safe travels! See you soon,
Pete Modreski

The point is that Tuesday is not the "real" set up day, so at 6:00 PM people could have worked long enough, plus considering that they could continue the Wednesday as they don't will need to let the whole display ready, against what happens the Wednesday.
Also, as the Convention Center and Casa Vicente are close, I assume that it will be easy jump and come to meet us there, at the end of the job (at 6:00 PM, I hope! ;-)

Sorry we will miss it the FMF shindig, would have liked to meet you. Unfortunately, we won't be there until Wednesday to set up the case. Competitive cases set up Wednesday as I understand it.

Thanks again Jordi! I had fun drinking wine, eating tapas, and engaging in much mineral talk. What a great group of people.

Last evening FMF had his second “annual” party and this time the turnout was excellent, as was the location, which was the restaurant Casa Vicente. The food was very good and the drinks flowed freely, particularly the margaritas and sangrias. We did not do a head count but it seemed like there were close to 50 friends there, many of whom have been “lurkers” on the Forum. Among the dignitaries were George “Jorge” Harlow (American Museum of Natural History, New York), Tony Kampf (Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History), Carl Francis (Harvard University), Marie (Editor, Rocks and Minerals) and her husband Terry Huizing, Pete Modreski and his wife (Pete continues as a moderator), FMF regular Ed Huskinson, and, of course, the indefatigable Gail Spann (her husband Jim couldn’t get there because he was setting up their display at the convention center. There were lots of photos taken and at least some of these will be posted here later today.

Considering my circumstances, completely overwhelmed by too many events and sleeping just 3-4 hours a day for too many days, I will post the photos promised of the FMF's party 'as them are', it means without text, and then I will go to sleep few hours until tomorrow when, due to my responsibilities as a European correspondent of the Main Show I have to manage the last effort and attend the opening of the Show and photograph as much things as I can.
BTW, if anyone who attended the party can add comments to this photos or publish their own, it would be a great help.

I'm going to add some of our photos from Jordi's party. I'll start with this one that I earlier posted elsewhere on his Tucson show report page; then, a few more. Again, it was really nice, thank you again, Jordi!
