As usual, wonderful specimens, Mike! My favorites among your recent posts are the Thunder Bay amethyst and the apatite from North Carolina, really cool pieces!

| Your photo technique is truly outstanding. In reading your description of it, you don't use stacking software and you mention several flash units and highlighting led spots. You use TTL metering and experiment with your settings? You might mention it somewhere, but what lens and camera do you use? Your results are ethereal. A real pleasure. Thanks.

I can only second Vic's words.
They have that truly amazing softness that if lacking in almost all minerals photos.
Beyond the quality and elegance of the specimens you are posting, it is a pure delight for the eyes.

Thanks Vic and Gérard. Glad you like the specimens and photographs.
I use a Nikon DSLR with a special perspective control lens. The lens allows you to manipulate the plane of focus to get more of the subject in focus without the need to do stacking. This works most of the time, but I have used stacking for some photographs.
