Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines reaches its 50th edition and this anniversary deserves to be celebrated!

For now, and as an appetizer, I publish with this post part of the advertising material that the organization of Ste. Marie has prepared for this year.

It is also worth to mention that this year at the Sainte Marie show there will be for the first time Mindat.org meeting with talks.

For the first time we will have a meeting with 4 speeches connected with the topic of the main exhibition - American Minerals. Event will be open for public.
Meeting will be in Friday afternoon in the Temple (23 rue du Temple) !!!!!

this year we do not make special big party, we will have rinks during whole show, but real mindat meeting will be for the presentations. You know, sometimes people have to be serious ;-)
We make a BIG party 2 weeks later during Mindat Meeting in Lwowek ;-)

The guys from "Le Règne Minéral" magazine already published in the "Mineralogical Literature" section infos about the new book "The minerals of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines" in the thread A new book for the end of June: The minerals of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines

As this book will be offered for sell in Ste. Marie, I complete these infos with the complementary information below (only in French language, sorry ;-)

One novelty for this year will be the new exhibit area in the parc Jules Simon, a green area located behind the Show. Below you have a short description of this new area sent by the comitee. A map of this new area is available in the Sainte-Marie-aux-Mine's web site

The park Jules Simon is located in the Mineral Zone and will be composed by:

- A tent with around 15 exhibitors

- 45 exhibitor’s stands

- The merchandises exhibited will be minerals, fossils and shells

- Exhibitors come from 4 continents. Half of them are news exhibitors; some of them are big exhibitors who wanted to grow up their exhibition surface (like Minerama)

- Concerning animation:

- Two workshops (dedicated to the families):

o Gold washing workshop: initiation, discovery of utensils and methods

o Experimental excavation: learn the searches ‘methods to discover a skeleton of dinosaurs

- 3 dinosaurs will be exposed in the park:

o A pachycephalosaarus

o A ceratosaurus

o A skeleton of Ouranosaurus nigeriensis
