José Miguel, were I able to take a picture like this ( https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?p=11207#11207 ), perhaps I would have had the chance to make a good living as a photographer.

Gold, quartz

Gold in not well defined crystals, showing some plates together with filiform, dendritic and arborescent forms, on a matrix of quartz. Overall size: 47 mm x 33 mm. Weight: 38 g. This specimen was brought from Philippines by the Spanish engineer Antonio Hernández, who had worked at the Macayan copper mines in the 19th century. I keep handwritten documents from him, dated year 1853, related with the mentioned copper mining works.

Very likely from Mancayan (Mankayan) mineral district, Benguet Province, Cordillera Administrative Region, Luzon, Philippines, where the presence of gold has been cited.

This specimen is no longer in my collection.

Hi Carles, I love the Japan Twin with Huebnerite. What a nice piece. That must have been a memorable day and an exciting trip home.
